Dr Danielle Greenberg

Biography

Danielle graduated in Modern History from Oxford University before returning to her hometown of Liverpool to qualify as a vet in 1998.

Over the course of her 30 year career in first-opinion practice, Danielle has worked in a range of clinical settings including mixed, Official Veterinarian (OV), exotic, but predominantly small animal practice. Her experience spans independent practices including in York, Selby and Liverpool as well as charity roles and locum work.

In 2018 Danielle founded The Liverpool Vets, an award-winning SA practice, with a community-focused ethos, known for mentoring graduate vets and vet students, with a strong social media following, and sustained data driven profitable growth, until its sale in 2023.

Danielle is passionate about public education and welfare. She is a founding member of the Merseyside Dog Safety Partnership, a multi-agency initiative uniting vets, doctors, police, postal workers and academics to reduce dog bite incidents.

She has long supported pets of vulnerable owners, bringing veterinary outreach to local charity Care for the Paw and is currently working with Street Vet.

In recognition of her contributions to the profession and wider community, Danielle was named Petplan UK Vet of The Year in 2019 and received a University of Liverpool Alumni award in the same year.

She maintains a strong interest in farm animal welfare, specifically around slaughter. Danielle is currently focusing on being a mum, as well as her charity and locum work.

She is committed to using her time on RCVS Council to be representative of frontline clinicians at every stage of their careers, and to support the development of resilient, fulfilled veterinary professionals.

Danielle shares her home with her husband, a doctor, her daughter, a teenager, and their much-loved rescue dog, Crosby.
