RCVS registration and renewal fees
If you are a veterinary surgeon, veterinary nurse or practice, you must be registered with the RCVS. You will need to pay registration and annual renewal fees to stay on the Register. You'll find these fees below.
If you have any questions about fees, please contact the RCVS finance team on 020 7202 0722 or email [email protected].
All fees listed below apply from 1 October 2025 to 31 March 2026 unless stated otherwise. VAT is included/excluded unless specified.

RVPP fees
RVPP fees are exempt from VAT.
- Initial registration: £38
- Annual fee: £38

- The annual fee for a main or standalone practice covers one assessment day every four years. Branch practices do not accrue assessment time as part of their annual fee.
- If assessments take longer than four hours on-site, or if additional assessments are needed, extra time is charged at half-day blocks, based on the equivalent daily assessment rate
- Pre- and post-assessment stages are charged together at half the equivalent daily assessment rate
- Expenses: extra costs such as assessor travel and accommodation are also charged if incurred
- Awards assessments are charged separately, based on assessor time, in half-day blocks plus expenses
