Concerns for veterinary professionals

As the regulator for veterinary professionals, we have a duty to consider concerns raised about veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses.

Not all concerns lead to disciplinary action, but every concern is taken seriously and assessed carefully.

If you’re thinking about raising a concern - or if one has been raised about you - the information below explains what to expect and where to get support.

If you have questions or need advice before raising a concern, contact our Professional Conduct Team at [email protected] or call 020 7202 0789.

Raise a concern about another veterinary professional

Illegal veterinary practice

If you believe that someone is working as a veterinary surgeon when not qualified to do so, or not registered with us, and you have evidence of this, we would like to hear from you.

A complaint has been raised about me

We understand that if a complaint has been made against you, it can be a worrying time. We aim to be fair and transparent in our investigations and to work quickly and thoroughly to resolve the complaint.

Are you an animal owner?

If you're an animal owner looking to raise a concern about a veterinary professional, we've made tailored guidance for you.
