Professor Matthew Jones
Biography
Dr Jones is Professor and Founding Head at the Harper & Keele Vet School, United Kingdom. He studied for a bachelor’s degree in cell biology and was subsequently awarded a PhD in radiation oncology at Liverpool Medical School. After a two-year post-doctoral position, he studied veterinary medicine, graduating from Liverpool University in 2001.
He spent the early part of his veterinary career in small animal and specialist equine clinical practices. In 2005 he left practice to embark on a series of industry roles, spanning leadership positions in research and development and commercial functions.
In 2014 he took the role of Director of Clinical Education at the new Vet School at the University of Surrey, United Kingdom and since August 2019 he has been Head of School (Dean) at The Harper & Keele Veterinary School.
