Biography

Ian is responsible for developing and implementing our communications strategy, in line with our three-year Strategic Plan, and is proud to head up the College's hard-working and dedicated communications team.

He coordinates and leads on all RCVS communications activities within and outside the College, including traditional and social media, digital, policy and public affairs, and events, marketing and design.

During his time at the College, Ian has introduced and developed a range of new communications initiatives and activities, including social media, new digital communications, the re-launch of the Practice Standards Scheme, Fellowship Day and the recent Innovation Symposium.

With an Honours degree in Animal Science and a Masters degree in Applied Animal Behaviour and Animal Welfare, both from the University of Edinburgh, Ian previously worked for the BVA's Animal Welfare Foundation for two years, before joining the College's then External Affairs Department in 2002. 

He is also a member of, and holds a Diploma in Public Relations from, the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
