Dr Caroline Queen
Biography
Caroline gained an Honours degree in Biochemistry from the University of St Andrews in 1991, before going to Liverpool to study Veterinary Medicine. She graduated from Liverpool in 1996 with commendation (distinction in Equine) and spent the first few years in mixed and equine practice. In 1999 she set up and opened Severn Veterinary Centre, in Worcester which expanded to a 6 centre small animal first opinion and orthopaedic and spinal referral practice, with a rehabilitation and hydrotherapy facility in locations across Worcestershire and Warwickshire. She has a particular interest in management, dermatology, canine rehabilitation and acupuncture.
In 2017 the practice became part of VetPartners, when she became a Business Development Director, for the Midlands and South West. In 2019, she became Senior Business Development Director with VetPartners, overseeing all small animal practices, hospitals, referral practices, mixed practices and a nursing school in the Southern region of the UK. She was also part of the acquisition team, representing VetPartners to prospective vendors. She set up and ran the Charity of the Year, liaising with all the main Charity Partners.
Caroline undertakes independent veterinary business consultancy work for private equity and veterinary sector industry partners. Recently she under took an interim role as Clinical Director at Bromyard Vets, worked as a Clinical Teaching Fellow at Harper/Keele Veterinary School, and is a partner in an Independent Small Animal Practice in Ledbury, Herefordshire. She currently works with Medivet as a Divisional Veterinary Director.
Caroline was BSAVA West Midlands Chair (2014 -2017), BSAVA rep on the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme (2015-2018), and BSAVA Congress Committee. She was Small Animal Advisor on the RAMP committee (2018-2019) (Register of Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners – a voluntary register for ACPAT Physiotherapists.
In her spare time, Caroline supports her husband, four children, spends many weekends at Pony Club mounted games competitions and has 6 horses, 25 sheep, 3 dogs and two cats!
