What does being an ambassador involve?
Your main activities will include:
- Delivering veterinary nursing talks in schools
- Attending careers fairs and educational events
- Creating resources for online careers hubs
- Providing educational resources to teachers and careers advisors
This is a voluntary role and you’ll choose how much you want to be involved.
Experience working in schools is not necessary because you’ll be given a full induction. The team will also provide you with extensive guidance and resources.
How to register
To join, you'll need to be an RCVS registered veterinary nurse or a second-year student veterinary nurse.
The registration process involves:
- Signing up through MyRCVS
- Completing STEM Ambassador registration
- Undergoing an enhanced DBS check
- Completing an online induction course
