Paying for vet and VN fees
Veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses and new registrants should pay their fees via MyRCVS using one of the methods below. New registrants applying to register with the RCVS should wait until they have submitted their application before making a payment. Receipts will be automatically emailed after payment, and can also be accessed in MyRCVS.
Via debit and credit card
Log in to MyRCVS and pay your fees by debit or credit card on or before the due date. We accept Visa and Mastercard debit and credit cards. There is no charge for paying by either debit or credit card.
Via direct debit
Direct debit payments are collected annually on, or shortly after, the fee collection date. To set up a direct debit instruction, log in to MyRCVS and select the fee(s) you wish to pay. This option is only available for personal (not business) UK bank account holders, and the direct debit instruction must be submitted at least 12 days prior to the collection dates.

Other methods
We regret we do not accept payments from individuals by bank transfer, cheque or over the telephone.
Employers wishing to pay annual fees on behalf of their employees may use our corporate scheme for bulk payment, subject to eligibility. If you wish to enquire about the corporate bulk payment scheme, please contact [email protected] at least three months prior to the renewal date so that we can include you in the corporate bulk payment process.
Employers should not make bank transfer payments for any veterinary surgeon or veterinary nurse fees on behalf of their employees unless they have received an invoice from RCVS under the corporate bulk payment scheme.
Paying for practice fees
Registered Veterinary Practices Premises (RVPP) may be paid through MyRCVS or via bank transfer using the details below.
Practice Standards Scheme (PSS) fees should be paid via bank transfer using the details below.
Via bank transfer
Bank transfers are only accepted for payment of (i) practice fees or (ii) under the corporate bulk payment scheme for veterinary surgeons and nurses annual renewal fees, for which a bulk invoice will have been sent to you. All bank transfers must be clearly referenced and accompanied by a remittance slip emailed to [email protected] on, or before, the payment date. All remittances should include a detailed breakdown of the payment including the invoice number(s).
All international banking charges are borne by the payee, including the international fees levied by our bank, Lloyds: approximately £7 per transaction.

Please allow up to ten working days for payments by bank transfer to be processed. Failure to provide the requested details for your payment may result in delays in identifying and allocating payment to the practice account.

Claiming tax relief on your fees/subscriptions
Did you know that if you have to pay professional fees/subscriptions in order to be able to do your job, you may be able to claim tax relief through HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC)?
Veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses registered with the RCVS may be eligible to claim tax relief against RCVS registration fees under the Income Tax (Earnings and Pensions) Act 2003.
To claim tax relief:
- You must be a UK taxpayer, and pay the RCVS registration fees yourself (they cannot be paid or claimed back by your employer).
- Your registration fees must be directly related to your current job.
The amount you can claim depends on your marginal tax rate and other factors. Basic rate UK taxpayers are typically eligible to claim 20%, while higher rate UK taxpayers may be eligible to claim 40%. If you have not claimed tax relief on your registration fees previously, you may be eligible to make a claim for the last four tax years.
To find out if you qualify and for information on how to make a claim, visit the UK Government website or contact HMRC. You can only make a claim via HMRC, and you may need your PAYE reference and National Insurance number.
