Veterinary registration: Information for practice staff

Use this guidance to support your veterinary staff through the RCVS registration renewal process.

Your key practice responsibilities

1

Communicate renewal dates

Make sure your veterinary surgeons and registered veterinary nurses (RVNs) know when the renewal period opens and the deadline date. Send clear reminders well in advance of the deadline to give everyone time to complete their renewal.

2

Remind staff about declarations

Vets and RVNs must submit declarations as part of their renewal, so remind them to complete these on time, especially if they're new to the renewal process.

3

Keep contact details up to date

To help the RCVS communicate effectively with your staff about their registration, please check that each team member's details are accurate in their MyRVCS account. Update any incorrect or outdated contact information as soon as possible.

If your practice pays the registration fees

Making the payment

If your practice pays RCVS registration fees on behalf of staff, you'll need to make your online payment during the renewal period.

Make sure you allow enough time to complete the payment before the deadline. Late payments can affect your staff's ability to practise.

Notifying your staff

Let your staff know as soon as you’ve made their registration payment. This confirms their renewal is complete.

Keep a record of all payments for your own files and to support any future queries.
