University of Edinburgh
- Edinburgh offers several bursary opportunities for its students:
- School bursaries - 15 available, each worth £500
- Bellringer bursaries - five available, each worth £625
- Eligibility - available to students in all Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery years

University of Glasgow

Royal Veterinary College (RVC)
- The RVC has various funding schemes available, including its EMS+ Award scheme. Contact them directly to learn about current opportunities.
Government Veterinary reimbursements
Government agencies offer reimbursement schemes for students undertaking placements with them - a great opportunity to gain experience in government veterinary work, while also receiving financial support.
Food Standards Agency (FSA)
The FSA offers comprehensive reimbursement for students on placements:
- Mileage - 24.8p per mile
- London accommodation - up to £145
- Subsistence - £25 for 24-hour rate
- Requirements - you'll need to provide receipts and comply with FSA policies
The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) /the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA)
If you’re interested in government veterinary work, try:
- Weybridge placement reimbursement - up to £300 for one-week placements
- Coverage - both animal husbandry and clinical EMS placements are eligible
- Process - submission of receipts
